Meredith ,Yolanda , Jared, and Anthony

Unit 1: In unit 1 we learned the scientific method and how to make the best experiment that we can make. We learn how to write a good hypothesis and what should and should not be in a hypothesis. We alsop learned how to write a good conclusion and experiment question. Projects that we did were three hole bottle. We learned how to collect data and graph by using the google doc version of excel. While collecting data we learned about quantative and qualtative data. After that we learned how to analyze the graoh that we had made to tell about are experiment and to see if we had did a very good job of the experiment. We learned how to make good procedures for other people, so they can do our experiment in ease. An experiment that we will be doing later in the unit in the Rubber Band Trajectory Peoject.

Standards Covered:

Scientific progress is made by asking meaningful questions and conducting careful investigations. As a basis for understanding this concept and addressing the content in the other three strands, students should develop their own questions and perform investigations. Students will:

  1. Plan and conduct a scientific investigation to test a hypothesis.
  2. Evaluate the accuracy and reproducibility of data.
  3. Distinguish between variable and controlled parameters in a test.
  4. Construct appropriate graphs from data and develop quantitative statements about the relationships between variables.
